- 2 cups filtered water
- 3 Tbsp hemp seeds
- 3 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp finely grated lemon zest
- 1/8 tsp kosher salt
- 3 large eggs
- Unsalted butter, for buttering the casserole dish
- 5 cups challah (about 8 oz)
1In a high-speed blender, add water and hemp seeds, blend on high until well combined and water turns white/pale, approx. 20-30 seconds.
2To the blender, add vanilla, cocoa powder and cinnamon. Blend on high until well combined.
3Pour chocolate mixture into a small/medium pot and put over a medium heat.
4Add desired amount of coconut sugar. I add 2 teaspoons. Whisk well until dissolved.
5Continue to heat mixture over a medium-high heat until it begins to steam, don’t let it boil. NOTE: or heat to your desired drinking temperature.
6Remove from heat and pour into mugs. Optional: marshmallows
